Toni Kotnik Module 3: Rapid Fabrication|Assignment 1
surface texture

ToniKotnik_Milling_FineCut_Real.jpg

The goal was to create a milled surface out of a block of insulation of dimension 500mm x 400mm x 70mm. First, a surface was created in Maya and broken into four components and one path along the surface. In order to generate the necessary milling paths the geometry was exported as IGS-file into Surf-CAM. The different areas of the surface were then used to experiment with parameters for the milling path types, step sizes, and milling bits resulting in varying surface textures and patterns.
