Schindler regards architecture as a result of technical history and technical history not as a momentary state-of-the-art, but as a continuous development. He developed a three-wave scheme of technological development, defined as hand-tool-technolgy, machine-tool-technology, and information-tool-technology. In his PhD , he conducts case-studies to consequently apply information-tool-technolgy in timber architecture.
